Gentoo Linux
Today I spend some time working on my “other computer”. I had 2 hard drives in it, but each hard drive was originally from a different system (with no documentation on where to put the jumpers). So once I finally got the hard drives working together I started putting a new Linux OS on it called Gentoo. I picked Gentoo because it is for power users, and it is relatively efficient partly because you can customize it to fit your needs. Installing this OS is a challenge compared to Windows XP. You pretty much do the whole thing by typing in different commands and editing files. I did learn a thing or two installing this version of Linux; plus I got to compile my very first Linux kernel. Yesterday I fixed some a small bug with special characters in URLs. I also had a nice Chile dinner with Heidi at her parents. After dinner I got my butt kicked by all 3 of them in a game of Yahtzee.
